About Us
B2E is Canada’s first building electrification coalition, based in British Columbia. We are a program area of the Zero Emissions Innovation Centre (ZEIC). We are industry experts, professionals, associations, training/education providers, engineers, designers, general contractors, installers, community housing providers, operators, owners, manufacturers, vendors, financial institutions, researchers, policy makers and electric utilities.
Our purpose is to create opportunities for multiple stakeholders to work collaboratively to identify and address barriers to electrification and take actions that contribute to a meaningful and equitable market shift to decarbonizing BC’s building sector.
Our goal is to advance high-efficiency electric space conditioning and water heating by:
- Building demand,
- Increasing the value of electrification,
- Fostering supportive policy alignment,
- Boosting the number of skilled workers, and,
- Creating robust and responsive supply chains.
Purpose: Reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the building sector by providing strategic direction to the transition toward building electrification. Drawing from expertise within each member's sector, ensure that B2E activities address current challenges and take advantage of opportunities to accelerate building electrification as outlined in the BC BERM.
The B2E Leadership Council, on behalf of the over 140 B2E members, published this strategic priorities letter in Jan 2024 here >
Expanding Industry Capacity
