Residential Heat Pump Installation - Newcomer to the Trades

Thinking about becoming a residential heat pump installer?  

Becoming a Red Seal Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic will provide you with the base knowledge for heat pump installation. Whether you are graduating high school and thinking about your next steps, or looking to make a big career change this path will provide you with skills to work in both the residential and commercial sectors (big and complicated refrigeration systems).

There are two points of entry, you can attend a post-secondary program, or enter a direct apprenticeship program with a company that specializes in residential installations:

“As a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic, you’ll install, maintain, and repair residential central air conditioning systems, commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems, and combined heating, ventilation and cooling systems. This will require you to draw from your agile and independent nature, as you’re quick to spring into action and figure out the issues at hand.” - Skilled Trades BC
