Wondering how induction stoves work? Induction cooktops use magnetism to heat your metal cookware directly. Underneath the cooking surface is a copper coil that generates electromagnetic energy. While many modern electric and induction cooktops may look the same, they transfer heat differently. Instead of radiating heat like a typical electric cooktop, induction cooktops transfer energy to create heat directly within a compatible pot or pan.
